In order to bring GLR back on track, members of the 1st generation were more closely involved in the development of a new racing car GLR2015c than in the previous year. The main focus was on changing from 13 “rims to 10” rims, which resulted in a new development of chassis, wheel carriers and frames and reduced the weight. In addition, a new cladding and seat as well as airbox built on laser sintering technology was applied. In gearbox control, a mechanical, sequential one was set. Instead of a dashboard integrated display, it is now integrated into the steering wheel. For the fourth time in a row, the registration for the Formula Student Germany was successful, this time even as the fastest German team.
Two engine damages two weeks before the event led to intensive work on the car before departure and at the Hockenheimring. Ultimately, technical approval was achieved and we participated in Autocross and Endurance participated. Unfortunately, it was not possible to complete the two parts, because of technical defects, but the car still holds more potential for the future.
